
After a year running events online, The Bigas Luna Tribute returned to cinemas in MADRID in April 2021 with two screenings, a book launch and a talk. This series of events, launched in San Francisco in early 2015 has now visited 16 cities in 7 different countries and 3 continents. Madrid also marked our 70th Bigas Luna film screening.
The 2021 Madrid event was a preview of a much larger retrospective in 2022, as part of The Year of Bigas Luna.

Q&A with Santiago Garrido Rua (director), Betty Bigas (designer and art curator), Carmen Chaves Gastaldo (scriptwriter).

The talk at the Casa de Velázquez and all the screenings at the Institute Français adhered strictly to local and regional Covid-19 restrictions, including reduced capacity to allow for social distancing, ventilation and compulsory face masks for the duration of the events.
